Painted by Polly Anderson

Artist Polly Anderson was looking for quality canvas print art reproductions of her paintings. Polly had a series of art works she’d had copies done on a medium format camera and copied to transparencies.

This was the first one done – scanned at maximum resolution on my Nikon 9000 scanner. This produced a nicely detailed image making a 760 x 355mm canvas print.

Polly loved the vibrant colours from the scan and print and will be back to make more copies in her series. More of her work can be seen at her website here

By artist Sandra Whyte

Sandra Whyte created this stunning painting of a Kokako living on the island bird sanctuary of Tiritiri Matangi, Auckland, New Zealand. Titled “Still In The Picture”, the painting is the first of a series entitled “Birds on The Brink”. The painting is the view looking towards Auckland from the sanctuary.

Sandra donated the painting and it has been auctioned off to raise funds for research to save these birds from extinction..

Sue Shepherd from the Whangarei Camera Club called in to see me about having this and another safari photo printed onto canvas in black and white. Sue had prepared the image with the styilised border. These were printed 19inces (475mm) wide. Sue loved the look of the prints and the true neutral black and whites. One canvas print is to be donated towards fundraising for Northland Hockey Black Stick Representatives at the coming London Olympics. For more canvas printing information click Here

Ben & Nerissa’s little baby boy

Ben saw me about having this photo put onto canvas. Ben’s son Max was born prematurely by quite a few weeks. Happily, he was in the skilled hands of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, one of the best facilities in the world.

Ben had this photo taken with Max holding his hand. It was cropped from a larger photo, turned to black and white and had a white misty vignette surround added. It was printed on to canvas and looked excellent. Ben says Max is doing fine and now weighs a few kilos. It won’t be long before Max will be home..

1500mm wide Panorama Print on Canvas

Lisa contacted me about having this lovely panorama photo printed onto canvas as a birthday present for her husband. It is the view from their house they used to live in, located in Snowdale, Mt Pember Station in the Lees Valley, Canterbury, New Zealand.

I advised Lisa a 1500mm wide canvas would be ideal. I made some enhancements to the sky and extended the sky and paddocks so the original image wouldn’t be wrapped around the sides. (The above image has the extensions, partial mirror image, partial detailed additions).

When the canvas was opened on her husband’s birthday, Lisa wrote back: “Hi Neal. Just a quick email to let you know that the photo is fantastic!! It has come up amazing and is just like looking out our old windows! Have just opened it and he absolutely loved it!!
Many thanks
Lisa”

Lisa’s step daughter had taken the photo with a new but small digital camera. They had stitched the photo together and produced a brilliant image. It’s a view from their house, and the view was exactly like looking out of their bedroom, lounge and kitchen. Lisa said they never tired of looking at the view.

Lisa went on to say: “Had the thought to take a photo before we left after seeing some panoramic photos on canvas elsewhere, but didn’t really think that we could do it ourselves!! But with your magic worked on the photo, it is now just exactly like looking out our old windows!!

Roy and Julie saw me about having three holiday photos printed onto canvas. They’d been to Queenstown and were keen to to have these photos done. I suggested they have the photos cropped to remove a lot of building clutter to give more emphasis on the scenery.

Just making some cropping adjustments can make a real difference. Ross and Julie were thrilled with the end results.

African Safari Canvas Print Montage

Karen's photo montage of animals on safari.

Karen from Auckland contacted me about making up a montage canvas print of a recent safari to Zambia & Botswana, Africa. Over a period of two weeks, Karen & her husband traveled in a guided camping safari group.

Covering destinations such as Livingstone & Victoria falls, Chobe National Park, Khwai River & Moremi Game Reserves, Okavango Delta and Nxai Pan Salt Flats, Karen compiled a series of photos of the animals she saw. In her own words: “Catch Phrase from our trip: “Botswana it’s my favourite”. Most crazy thing we did – white water rafting on the Zambezi river. I would absolutely recommend going to Botswana to anyone looking for that amazing safari experience, beautiful country & people and the animals were spectacular.”

With Karen advising on the layout of the photos, the above 975mm wide mounted canvas print was created.

Upon receiving the canvas, Karen wrote back:”Just to let you know the print has been delivered. It looks amazing, really happy with the end product – thank-you! My husband was very impressed with the print as well. We really like how you have framed it as well, very solid.

Definitely will recommend your services to any friends looking to have prints done.
Regards
Karen”
