The 2010 season of hockey at the Whangarei Hockey Stadium has kicked off. Playing in summer conditions Old Girls beat Hikurangi in one of three prem women games held over the weekend. Various other grades have already started, with senior men kicking off after Easter

Duncan sent me this wonderful panorama photo looking along the Wharekara Harbour Sandspit, Opoutere, Coromandel, New Zealand.

Printed on my high quality Epson Satin/Matt paper the panorama photo print measured 840mm wide, and looked very impressive.

John sent me a series of slides of Motutapu Island off the Auckland coast to be scanned and copied. They were taken in the 1950s by school teacher Ray Coates. The pictures are of a top dresser loading up for fertiliser, the island wharf, and the then just completed island school classroom.

John says today the island is poised to become the largest island recreation park in New Zealand, throuh the efforts of thousands of volunteers who are revegetating the island to provide habitats for endangered species.

All the slides scanned will be used on a website about the island.

Malcolm Pullman from Aqualine Promotions called in to see me about having these two photos of kiwis being held to be put onto canvas. Malcolm is a freelance photographer, and took these photos of the couple involved with conservation work with kiwis on their farm. It’s a rare privelige to hold a kiwi, making the prints more special.

Malcolm presented the A4 sized canvas prints to the couple.

Masters-Hockey-Mens-40+

Got back from Nelson at the Masters National Hockey Tournament. Tired from a long week of hard hockey games. We eventually finished 5th in our grade, the 35+ women doing the best by coming 3rd. Now catching up with all work, and a backlog of blogs to write up. This is a picture of my 40+ mens’ team. More hockey photos to follow.
