Steve Moase from Moaseart had previously done some canvas art prints made by me. With ongoing success of sales, Steve decided to have this image put onto canvas. It’s an artistic scene of Whale Bay, Northland New Zealand. Measuring 1000mm x 380mm it’s been a very popular seller for Steve.

Astronomy Hubble Telescope Photo On Canvas
Posted by Photo Enhancements under Canvas PrintingNo Comments

I’m quite a fan of astronomy images, and came across this wonderful Hubble Telescope picture of the Stellar spire in the Eagle Nebula. Measuring 9.5 light years high, the nebula is likely to be the birth place of young stars.
Obtaining a high resolution image courtesy of NASA, ESI and the Hubble Heritage Team (STScI/AURA) I printed out this photo onto canvas measuring 970mm x 475mm. This canvas print is for sale, with access to more Hubble photos. I can be contacted through my main website:

Just updated is the logo header image for my website and blog. I wanted a simple logo covering the type of work I did - ie printing images onto canvas and photo paper, as well as restoring and altering photos. The camera outline is my own camera, and printer my own after doing a large print. The image to the right is a stylized image of a railway line I took a few years ago, representing the art work I print for customers and myself.
It may not be the flashest, but I made it myself and am happy with the final result.

Photo Altering - Removing the Bride
Posted by Photo Enhancements under Alteration , Black & WhiteNo Comments

It’s not what you think! Not a domestic dispute ending with the bride being removed. Laurel called in about having a photo of her husband in his army uniform on his own. He had passed away 17 years ago, and Laurel was getting his army medals mounted with a picture of him going with the medals.
Laurel wanted a simple photo where her husband was standing with a plain background behind him. I removed the bridal image, filled in the missing parts of the image and added in a simple graduating background. Laurel was extremely happy with the final result.

Back from Holidays, Plenty of Work to Do

Business has started for the new year. It was great to have a break after the busy lead up to Christmas, with more canvas prints done than the previous year. It was good to see a good mixture of artists, photographers, and regular shooters using my services - and all the images done looked great!
Here’s an image I took while visiting Whananaki, Northland, after the new year. It was a 20 photo image taken with my Canon 20D and 70-200mm 2.8 Zoom Lense. Why use a telephoto for a wide panorama? It gave me a chance to take far more detail than a wide angle lense allowing to make for big sized prints. This produced an 86 Megapixel equivalent photo after cropping, the bottom image is a zoomed in portion of part of the image - taken about 700-800 metres away.
