Merry Christmas every one and a happy new year. It’s been a hectic 2 weeks of non stop photo work - primarily canvas printing for my regular photographers & artists and a whole lot of new customers. It’s good to sit back and relax for a while, but it’s good to reflect on the work completed. I’m officially on holiday until the 5th to 12th but will be checking from time to time to take orders and will process canvas prints if required.

The photo above is a canvas print I made for my niece. It’s a photo she took while camping on Great Barrier Island on an Intermediate School trip back in November. This was where she was camping, right on the beach front! She was really chuffed to receive the gift-  an A3 sized canvas.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. The photo work has been flowing out  the door with barely time to update the blog.

It’s been especially busy with canvas prints - a few late nights getting the large work flow completed, before the next batch has to be done. Not many individual photos to show, what with privacy to keep in mind, but here’s a pic of nine prints ready to be picked up for a local gallery to go on display. Still time for orders to be completed if made before the weekend! Local orders I can still accept up to and including Tuesday.

Jill required this photo to be fixed and have all the marks removed. It was a picture of her father taken back in the 50s. Luckily his facial features were fine but his suit and tie were the worse for wear. Instead of trying to spend a lot of time trying to repair the suit I looked thru my archives and found a very tidy  suit and tie. It blended perfectly, the restored photo looking excellent. When Jill saw the photo and the changes I made she said that was the sort of suit and tie her father would definitely like to wear!

Dorothy called in to see me about having this old pioneer photo restored to its former glory. Taken in 1906 it celebrated 50 years of settlement in New Zealand. The title says “May Grace & Blessing Dear Crown this Day our Jubilee Year 1856 - 1906″ It was a large 16 x 20 inch photo, which I reproduced and printed to that size as well as making small 8 x 10 prints.

It’s been a busy few weeks, with canvas and photo restoration orders coming in. Just finished, scanning 1100 negative images for a customer - a huge undertaking, but juggling with other work all finished in good order. Also some new gliclee art reproductions in the process of being prepared for a local artist I deal with  - these will look fantastic when they’re finished. December will be a busy month!
