multiple-scan-and-enahnce-photos

Annie came to see me about having over 70 photos of her distant and recent relatives scanned, enhanced and restored then copied onto DVD. Most of the images required an enhancement, a few full restoration. The images were scanned at a high resolution so Annie would be able to view all the details in the photos closeup. This was quite a long and big project. but the images came out looking great.

Not much to show over the last couple of weeks, but I certainly have been busy! Some personal canvas prints have been made but not for public viewing. I’ve also been working on some multi-photo restoration/enhancing projects which are now nearing completion. Also more canvas artworks to print, but still in the process of having them printed then mounted.

Claire contacted me about getting a quality panorama canvas print done of the top picture seen here, taken in the Bay of Islands. She’s taken a panoramic scene with her camera, with the camera then building the view. Unfortunately it didn’t do a good job. The middle was missing part of the image and the right side had a curvature to the ocean. It didn’t look good, but this was the one Claire liked the most of all the panorama photos she’d taken.

Using the 2nd panorama image shown I was able to use it to fill in the missing portions. After further enhancing, the image at the bottom was produced - quite a tricky job to get right. This was printed and mounted onto a 300mm x 1000mm frame. Claire loved the final look and is giving it to her mother as a birthday present.

Jo Walker came to see me about having this 70s photo scanned, enhanced and then enlarged. Her mother, seen bottom left holding the boy, has fading eyesight, and Jo wanted to know if I was able to make it bigger. I said no problem, the original photo was clear enough to enlarge.

Jo provided me with a new picture frame, allowing me to enlarge the photo to the correct dimensions. The photo was scanned, marks and redeye removed, colours enhanceed then printed to a 16 x 22 inch size, with excellent clarity. When Jo saw the final print mounted she was overjoyed with what she sure. I was going to make her mother very happy!
