Wow, it’s been a busy year, Christmas is nearly here and time to put my feet up for a while. A lot of restored and altered photos have been made. Also a lot of canvas prints done from little ones to 2 metres in length. A big thank-you to you all who have supported my business - all the new internet and local customers I’ve been in contact with. And don’t forget to hunt out those digital pictures, slides, negatives and old photos that you wanted enhanced and printed.
New additions to the website next year - Among other things, I’ll finally have a chance to add on some information about slide and negative services that the new Nikon 9000 will bring. As always the website is a work in progress. Anyway I’ll be taking it easy and will be back on on-board 6th January.
Merry Xmas and have a great New Years!

With all the canvas prints being done at the moment, this was an especially nice one to do (all the other ones were nice too!). Lee had these two photos of her nieces she had taken. She liked the one where the two girls were hugging closely to each other.
Unfortunately she’d cut off the bottom of their bodies. So with a bit of photo alteration magic I created this canvas print of the two images combined in the bottom photo. One of the hardest parts was fixing the missing parts of the little girl’s chin - everything must look like an original photo. Lee wanted me to remove the black bag in the background just keeping the greenery.
As there was limited room at the bottom of the image, Lee was happy to have the bottom of the canvas print wrap left plain white. She was thrilled with the final result.

No photos today of work done, but work as gotten very busy with the lead up to Christmas. A lot of the work I do is of a personal nature so I don’t ask to have them put on the blog. What you read on the blog is a small snapshot of the work passing through.
I just received some more nice feedback from one of my repeat customers down in Hamilton. Margie had a couple of canvas prints ordered to give as Christmas presents. Unfortunately one arrived in damaged condition. I had Margie send the canvas back, myself covering her postage costs. I examined what had happened to make sure it didn’t happen again. A new one was made and sent down. Margie’s email after she’d received the order was, “The canvas arrived. Thank you so very very much for redoing it for us. It looks wonderful. Again thank you for your fantastic service. We have recommended you to a lot of our friends. Have a wonderful christmas and all the best for the new year.”

Zoe from Auckland emailed me this photo in need of some urgent image restoration work. Zoe and her family were having a memorial picnic for her mother and wanted to give everyone a copy of this photo. Zoe needed the photo fixed before the weekend and wasn’t worried if I did a rush job.
I let Zoe know I could do it straight away. I enhanced the lighting, then carefully removed the fold, showing no sign of it being there. I made sure the photo looked as good as possible. I emailed the finished photo back to Zoe. Her reply was “You have done a fantastic job, thank you so much! And so quick.”

This must be one of the more unique canvas prints I’ve done in a while. Wendy came to me with a 6 x 4 snapshot of this Indian woman looking to have it printed onto canvas. It was taken in 1990 in India. Wendy liked the colours of the image and said it would blend perfectly with the decor of her home.
As it was, the photo would have lost too much of the woman when printed onto and canvas then mounted. So I extended the bottom and sides to retain most of the image. This was printed to fit an A2 size frame. The image came out perfect. Wendy and her husband were so pleased, they even called me when they’d got home, saying how well it looked hanging on the wall.
