Building Extensions

I had this photo sent to me in need of some photo alterations. The left hand side of the building needed to be added along with a suitable background. I added in the building sides and supports in keeping with the construction of the rest of the hut. More trees were added to finish the effect. Finally, a basic photo colorisation was done in line with budget constraints. The photo was cropped to suit a 400mm x 500mm photo print.

Restoration Man Playing Tennis

Pete from Piha, Auckland, sent me this photo in need of restoration. Pete had used my services before to fix a photo of his relations picking grapes, which is now on my front web page. This photo was printed on photocopy paper so needed fixing and printing on permanent photo paper. The image was restored and six copies printed to be given to Pete’s family. Pete sent a letter of thanks back which in his own words said: “Kiora Neal, Many thanks for your superb effort! Wicked man! Gotta find you something else to do now. Cheers Pete.”

Restoring photo or the car

This is an old photo of my own car I took a few years ago. I wanted a nice picture to put on my wall. With my skills at the time this was the best I could do. However, the car was looking tatty with a broken front bumper and many stone chips. With careful application of photo restoration techniques - much like a tattered and torn photo, I carefully removed all the bad marks. The car looked like brand new. Since then the car had another bumper attached bringing the car more in line with the bottom photo. Who says a photo never lies?

Horse on Canvas

Jody came to me with three photos to be put onto canvas. They were her daughter and horse by a stream. The horse had been sold. Jody wanted to give her daughter a birthday present reminding her of her time with the horse. We decided to do a sequence with all three photos on one 300 x 600mm canvas mount. Each photo was scanned, enhanced and separated by a black border, with a surrounding black border on the edge. The photo above shows the image ready for printing onto canvas.

Canvas Photo Scenery Print

Louise from Louise Panther Photography came to me with a series of three scenery photos to be put onto canvas. They show the coastline around Whangarei Heads/Kauri Mountain New Zealand. They were for a client whom will be flying out overseas, so only the prints were required. Louise can be contacted on 09 4361618 or landb@free.net.nz

Photo Restoration Project

Bethley came to me with over 50 photos covering the settling of the Maungakaramea area, southeast of Whangarei, New Zealand. Photos covered the founding of the community, churches, schools and hall, sports and events in the late 19th and early 20th century. Each photo was scanned, restored and printed for framing. In these two photos, the top image shows logging in the Tangihua area, with the lower celebrating the return of soldiers from the First World War at the local school.
